19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player won his maiden title for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging year, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in particular - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and finally splitting with former mentor Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.

This marks his initial trophy following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since March of the previous year.

Success also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children at once, so to get a championship is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's counter-punching approach and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform positively, supported by an improved serve.

The champion came back from a break down in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the last five points to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, striving for his initial tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a decider.

Moutet rescued four early-game opportunities in a close final set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he secured the win with a point at the net area, with his opponent unable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
